To Jeremy's friends and family -
I am so sorry for your loss. Obviously such a powerful spirit will live on, and I hope that time eases your grief quickly.

Be well.

Jeremy and Jeremy's community:
I lost a dear stepson when Jeremy passed out of the material plane. During this last year, I've gained a community of friends, sisters and brothers, and in-laws, all with enormous hearts. I feel deep pain at the loss, yet immense gratitude at the loving acceptance and compassion shown my wife Sherry and I, by Jeremy's wife and extended family. You've helped renew my faith in the goodness in people.
What a wonderful reflection on him.-T.

Dear Family and Friends of Jeremy,

Jeremy explored deeply many spiritual traditions so when I came across a beautiful concept from Bushido, the Japanese way of the warrior or Samurai, developed during the middle ages,I have always thought of it as applying perfectly to Jeremy.

"Bushi no nasake" means the tenderness of a warrior, and more completely, according to the text I read, "the bravest are the tenderest, the loving are the daring." Love and tenderness within the spirit of a great warrior, what an amazing example our dear friend has left us.

Love,

John Passacantando

Family and friends of Jeremy

I am new to Greenpeace and just got to know about Jeremy's life and work through the website.

I'm sorry I will never have the chance to meet him and thank him for all the hard and wonderful work he did for our mother Earth.

Be strong now and keep in mind this is not the end.

We love you. We miss you. Unfortunately we will not be at the memorial service in person, but will be there in spirit. Farewell, dear Jeremy. Thank you for everything.

Jeremy,
I've been filled with regret to be so out of touch over the last year... not even a single visit to the Bay Area after visiting so often over the previous several years.

But I was so glad to be able to talk to you for a few last precious minutes. I didn't know it would be the last time but you let me know I shouldn't be surprised if it was. Even without saying the exact words, we got to say goodbye, and I'm so thankful for that.

However, I forgot to tell you the one thing I wanted to. And though my brain has awkwardly toggled back and forth between present and past tense when thinking of you this past week, I'll say it how I think it:

You are the kind of man I aspire to be.

I love you brother.
