Dear Jeremy,

It was a pure pleasure and an inspiration to know you, and I feel honored and blessed to have been part of your action care team in your last few weeks. I will always remember how, even in your pain and torment, during your walks around the room, you always found the energy to reach out and inquire how we were doing, and what was happening in our lives and works, even as you needed care, you were giving care right to the end.

So many are saddened by your passing, but so many are also re-inspired to continue and grow in our abilities to work for the planet, and all of its precious life, the most important work there is.

Reading the memorial candles in your room, commemorating the environmental heroes and sheroes that have preceded you to rejoin the great spirit, they all say “what is remembered lives”. I have to change that line on the candle I will make for you:

He who is remembered lives, he who so inspires transforms.

Love to you brother, and to your beautiful family, and to your whole, huge and incredible circle.

Peter

Jeremy,

Thanks for your grace, your humor, and your teaching up until now and beyond. Thank you for giving our community Beth Leigh who's friendship is such a gift.

I have been looking for solace in my favorite authors and I found this quote by William Blake which reminded me so much of you.

"He who binds to himself a joy,
does the winged life destroy;
But he who kisses the joy as it flies,
Lives in eternity's sunrise."

Love for now and forever.

Jeremy,

Posting this into the technological universe makes me think smilingly of how you taught others to leverage technology against the machine.

When you felt the calling to study medicine, I knew how important it was and that you should do it, and with a clear conscience.

When others had been exhausted, you had picked up their packs and carried on.

You are a hero to me.

We've missed you so much at Greenpeace, praying that you would be able to return. The success of the Alaska campaign is a tribute to your amazing work. Thank you for all you've done for the planet.

with much love, lisa
